COTS or CISRS Operative Training Scheme is used to display the employees and other staff members that the delegate holding this card has the relevant industry knowledge and skills to carry out his or her duty in a safe manner. The main goal of this course is to teach all the delegates about the basics of the industry when working with access solutions and scaffolding. The applicants who want to apply for CSCS card CISRS Scaffolding labourer or CISRS trainee scaffolder card can go for this course. There are various objectives of the COTS course. Some of them are given below:

● Understanding the needs of all the equipment and tools containing boards, service for equipment, tube fittings, and various others.

● Reporting and preventing the occurrence of accidents.

● Controlling the safety of the site, welfare, housekeeping, prevention from fire, health, hygiene, and various others.

The duration of this course is one day long. After completing the course we at construction helpline will apply for the card on behalf of you. During the practical assessment of this course, the delegate must wear personal protective equipment. They will be required to provide hard hats, gloves, high visibility overalls or vests, and safety boots.

Why this course?
The candidate who wishes to apply for their COTS trainee card and wants to work in the industry of construction then this course is mandatory for them. The aim of this course is that the applicant will be able to prevent accidents and know their responsibilities towards their work and occupation.

In order to pass this exam, the delegates are required to achieve at least 80% marks and are allowed only 1 re-sit.

What card I will get by doing this course?

There are two types of CSCS card you can get by doing this course. These cards are given below:

● You will get a green scaffolding labourer CISRS card if you are applying for the scaffolding labourer. This green labourer CSCS card has a validity period of 5 years. But after completing 5 years, it can be renewed again. For renew you would need to do the COTS course again and qualify the health and safety test for the operative level.

● The second one is the red trainee scaffolder CISRS Card. you will get this red card if you are applying for the trainee scaffolder. The red CSCS card has a validity time of 18 months only. But after completion of this card, it can be renewed again. For renewing you would need to take the CISRS part 1 and part 2 COTS course. This card can be renewed for one time only.
